We complain about traffic, long lines, and having to buy a few more presents. We complain about wrapping. We whine about baking. We complain about being with the family members who sometimes just don't feel like family. We run around like mad, all going insane, not even thinking of how this should be a peaceful, holy, time. A time of unbelievably beautiful joy.
Watch this. I am an active supporter of St. Jude's Research Hospital, and they believe in peace and hope, the sanctity of each moment, and all the things we so easily forget at this time of year.
These angels, of all people, have the right to be sad at Christmastime. But no, to them, it's not even an option. Look at their little faces - they are so happy, sharing so much joy! They just believe. Believe in love. Believe in Christmas. Believe in miracles. Believe they have a lot to be thankful for. Believe that they can have joy even through they may be dying.
Shame on us. What's it going to take for some of us to find that true joy, that strong belief?
God bless these precious little angels. They, even in their conditions, have blessed us all. To me, that's honorable. It's beautiful.
Ahh... tonight, my boy Mo Williams couldn't even save the Cavs. I knowingly got ripped off in a desperate attempt to attend the Cavs season opener game (lol) but I donned my new Mo Williams jersey and went to Cleveland with the fiance to see the Cavs take on the Boston Celtics only to LOSE 89, 95. Come onnnn. We have LeBron, Shaq, and of course, my boy Mo Williams! No excuses, guys. Absolutely pathetic. We started out the game completely on fire and then it got pretty intense... until we lost. :( Well, at least my hot dog was delish, I had a night with my fiance, and it was free t-shirt night! Ohhh, and I looked pretty schhhweet in my new Mo Williams #2 jersey!! :)

Here's a few movies from the night, mostly the beginning like intros, tip-off, etc.
I have lots of pictures, too, but I'm having issues with my new camera... they will be up soon. :)
I absolutely splurged and bought floor tickets to Taylor Swift's 10/3 concert at the Q for my little sister's 20th birthday. (Man, doesn't 20 sound so old?? She used to be 2 you know...)

The concert was much better than I thought it'd be, and the seats were way better than I had ever imagined.
Gloriana opened for Taylor, and they were really great. We knew them from their single, "Wild at Heart." Here they are...

Then came Kellie Pickler who seems like so much fun in real life! She was wearing super-high-heels absolutely covered in glitter and had a matching microphone. So fun!

When she sang "Red High Heels," someone actually held a red high heel on stage, which she of course autographed. It was so cute.
Then, among a screaming, cheering crowd and posters of Kanye West with his head crossed off and saying things like "Why'd you have to be so heartless?" Taylor came out to to begin her show.
Completely amazing...

I have a string of YouTubes, too, but this one, you absolutely must see. Taylor is even more humble than she looks to be on TV, and Cleveland, well, we obviously love Taylor! Check out this video!! (Oh, and keep it on because White Horse is afterwards - one of my faves!)
Here's a playlist of all my my YouTube concert videos... scroll down for the set of Taylor. I have Kellie Pickler and Gloriana on there, too. They were great!
I hope my little sister enjoyed herself at my wallet-breaking concert! ;-) She seemed to have a great time which was all that matters.
Happy Early Birthday, Nikki!!!
Grey's Anatomy... I'm counting down the days!! Apparently, it's going to be a "heavy" season, as E! lets us know.
Do you remember the finale from last year? It was so ... so.... just wow.
Every now and then, look around. Drink it in. 'Cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow.
Here is a sneak peek of what's coming - the first 5 minutes of episode 6.1. Thursday night!!
And how about Private Practice? That season finale was a little too intense, and it will be interesting to see how things go from there. I think they should move Addison back to Grey's and can Private Practice, but until then... I cannot help but watch.
I got my Season 5 Grey's DVDs in the mail yesterday from Amazon. I have my first huge exam of the semester on Tuesday so maybe I should leave them in the shrinkwrap. Or not... :)
Life is so stressful right now. In a world of final exams, doctors appointments, nannying, deadlines, and just the day to day stress... I am reminded of a place that has been my safe haven since I was just a year old. A place that somehow makes you forget about whatever problems you used to face and inspires you to believe, dream, and hope.
May 2009: If only I could go back and be right here, right now:
My sister and I are going back the first chance we get, but who knows when that will be. Thankfully our timeshare doesn't make it too difficult, but schedules seem to be the big thing right now. I guess we really are grown-ups now. When did that happen? I wish it'd stop.
